Accompanying Poem
I’m jealous of your
beautiful family
You’re mother’s love,
your father’s strength
Your siblings laugh with you
Love you
Hold you
There’s joy here
and safety
I can feel it and I’m just
looking in from the outside
I’m jealous of you
You got to grow up and be easy
It’s easy for you to love and be loved
I’m jealous of you and I’m not sorry about it
I don’t think it’s said enough but
Life isn’t fair and right now it taste bitterThere’s a reason why women like me grow up hard
And women like you get to be soft
Jealous
