What makes a word beautiful? Do we associate certain meaning with sounds? Why do some languages "sound" so beautiful?
My final project for linguistics on phonaesthetics: the study of beauty and pleasantness associated with the sounds of certain words or parts of words
Sound Patterns
Sound Symbolism: The association between particular sound and or at sequences in specific meanings in speech. Phonaesthetics are reserved for words with positive connotations
well sound symbolism can apply equally to words with both positive and negative connotations
Phonaesthemes: are a particular sound/ sound sequence in words related to specific meanings. Phonaesthemes' meaning strength depends on the frequency of words they occur.
